On June 5, 2024, Zizi Kodwa, South Africa’s sports, arts, and culture minister, appeared in court on bribery charges. He is accused of accepting 1.6 million rand (USD $85,000) in bribes related to Johannesburg metro software contracts.
Kodwa, along with his co-accused Jehan Mackay, was granted bail. The allegations date back to his time as ANC spokesperson and deputy minister of state security.
