On July 29, 2024, Samuel Tweh, Liberia’s former finance minister, faced an arrest warrant for his alleged role in a $500 million corruption scam. Indicted for economic sabotage and illegal fund disbursement, Tweh, who was previously sanctioned by the U.S., has called the indictment a politically motivated attack and remains at large.
