On November 24, 2023, Li Chunsheng, aged 62, the former Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of Guangdong, agreed to plead guilty to bribery charges.

Li is accused of abusing his positions in the provinces of Guangdong and Henan to secure advantages for third parties, particularly in project contracting and employment advancement. In exchange, he unlawfully accepted cash and valuables totaling more than CNY 79.4 million (USD 11.2 million).

Li pleaded guilty to bribery and corruption, expressing remorse in court. His sentencing is scheduled for a later date.
