A case has been filed due to allegations of conflict of interest and favoritism in the awarding of government flood-control projects worth US$10.81 million to a construction company linked to Gonzales and his immediate family. The complaint accuses Gonzales, his five immediate family members, and Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) officials of violating the Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act and Possession of Prohibited Interest by a Public Officer. The complainant, Terence Napao, alleges that the projects were manipulated to benefit Congressman Gonzales’ family-owned business, A.D. Gonzales Jr. Construction and Trading Co. Inc., raising concerns about transparency in the bidding process.
