Mexican Senate Issues Amendment to AML Framework

On June 25, 2025, the Mexican Senate approved major reforms to its Federal Anti-Money Laundering Law and Penal Code, aligning national regulations with the upcoming FATF mutual evaluation. The reform expands the scope of regulation to include new sectors—such as real estate, virtual assets, and trusts. The bill now moves to the Chamber of Deputies for further consideration.
