On February 5, 2025, Dinara Kutmanova, the former Kyrgyz Minister of Natural Resources, and her son, Kemelbek Kutmanov, were sentenced to eight years in prison, along with property confiscation. Kutmanova was convicted of abuse of office, while her son was found guilty of large-scale fraud. Both were also barred from holding public office or engaging in business for three years. Their detention status remains unchanged. Kutmanova was arrested in July 2023 in connection with a corruption case involving the Ministry of Natural Resources and the Nature Development Fund, accused of misappropriating millions from various projects.
