Ex- Zambia Minister Sentenced and Fined for Corruption and Tax Evasion

On November 8, 2024, Bowman Lusambo, former Lusaka Province Minister and Kabushi MP, was sentenced to four years in prison with hard labor after being convicted on nine charges, including corruption, tax evasion, and possession of properties deemed proceeds of crime.

Lusambo was found guilty of unlawfully acquiring properties, evading taxes, and holding illicit funds, including K880,000 in a third-party account. He attempted to conceal ownership by registering properties in his wife’s name, but she was acquitted.Â
