On April 5, 2025, former Cameroonian Defense Minister Edgard Alain Mebe Ngo’o was sentenced to 30 years in prison for corruption, embezzlement, and money laundering involving over CFAF 196 billion. Co-accused Maxime Mbangue and Colonel Ghislain Mboutou were each sentenced to 25 years. Despite unexplained wealth, no assets were confiscated.
